Last week my whole family went to Hong Kong.On the 2nd day Dad had to work so my mom, sisters and I went to the winter carnival. Our hotel was on the Kowloon side of the harbor but the carnival was on the Hong Kong island side so we took the star ferry. We boarded the boat and got front seats. We could see the ferris wheel and a big red and white striped tent.
When we arrived, there was a huge line. We thought it was for the carnival, but it was actually for the ferris wheel. When we got to the carnival, we thought it was closed because there were so few people. After we got tickets and tokens, we decided to go on a ride. First, we tried a swing that swung so so high! Then we tried some games. There was one with fishing rods and floating ducks. Nat won a prize from that game. There was another that had bean bags to throw at a can pyramid and a third game that involved throwing hula hoops over a unicorn on a pedestal. After games we rode the bumper cars. This was my favorite ride because it was violent. I loved destroying my family. The music was pumping. I liked the bumper cars so much I rode it twice.
For a snack, we got to share a big candy floss. Candy floss is another way to say cotton candy. It was quite the sugar rush! After the carnival, we took the ferry back to the hotel. Overall, it was a very nice day and I would recommend the winter carnival to anyone who visits Hong Kong!
